January 4, 2012 John began his presentation on “When Business Cards Aren’t Enough” He explained the following as a list of atypical networking techniques that will help boost business; however they require courage, test your expertise, and challenge your creativity.
January 11th, 2012 Yvonne's presentation was on the value of a self-assessment in personal and business relationships. By understanding four areas of personality and strengths, one is able to not only self evaluate themselves, but also understand and learn to deal with others.
January 18th, 2012 Walt began his presentation on “Social Media-Google Panda”, he began by presenting a definition of Google Panda as being 1st released in February, 2011 It is a change to Google’s search results using algorithms. Change affected rankings of nearly 12% of all search results.
January 25th,2012 Lou began his presentation on his CPA practice. Lou noted that 77% of his activity involves tax preparation
He also assists business owners in setting up corporations and LLC’s. Lou also noted The tax filing deadline this year will be April 17. W-2’s should be sent out by January 31st.
February 1, 2012 New member Darlene Hanes with Provada Insurance group health insurance presented today with her colleague Stefan. Stefan Fatseas, owner of Health Insurance Linked, noted in his presentation that group and private health insurance reform is a key issue that will affect all of us.
February 8, 2012 Yvonne's presentation was on “Trends in the Real Estate Market” She noted that she believes the down trend in South Florida real estate has now come full cycle.
February 15, 2012 Debbie Wemyss (Professional Speaker) began her presentation of “Using LinkedIn as a means of promoting yourself and/or Business”. Debbie noted that since its inception in 2003 and 4500 subscribers, that LinkedIn had grown to over 150 million users worldwide with 55 million in the US. It is specifically a business social marketing site.
February 22, 2012 Jeff began his presentation on the Hierarchy of Customer Satisfaction; Jeff then covered the satisfiers including credibility, a partnership with the client, trust, and discovery
February 29, 2012 Pete began his presentation on Increasing Sales Simply put, Pete noted “make more sales calls”, Talk to people and use some of their ideas for additional lead sources and Join associations of people in similar businesses.
March 7, 2012 Robin began her presentation on Plantique, Inc.explaining the term Biophilia which is the human tendency to bind with plants; this is a positive effect on people; There are many benefits to having live plantings within the home or office.
March 14, 2012 Kenny began his presentation on “Building Morale when Times are Tough” Suggestions for tips to improve teamwork included: Give sincere complements remembering that team members don’t have to be perfect---just improving, Share information; not all information, but information that will help others to succeed
March 21, 2012 Mark begin his presentation by explaining the difference in investing in CD’s vs Municipal Bonds, He noted that an individual investing in a very conservative fund yielding low interest and low risk was exposing their assets to the negative effective of inflation and taxes
March 28, 2012 Romily began her presentation about services at First Citizen’s Bank, She noted that First Citizen’s was now 113 years old and originated in North Carolina
April 11, 2012 Eliot began his presentation about Wine Sulfites and notes that Sulfites are not harmful for human consumption and contrary to popular belief, do not cause headaches.
April 18, 2012 Gregg began his presentation about Beach Environmental’s work in removing common pests, he exampled a contract with a local Mall to remove the sparrow population there. Health issues were of concern.
